Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a system for personal development which uses a series of strategies and techniques enabling you to work with your own perception and subjective experience to change your attitudes and beliefs in a way which is beneficial to you. NLP theory has developed by studying successful patterns of behaviour in a given situation and finding methods of modelling these patterns which anyone can learn. For example, a person who is a confident public speaker will have different attitudes, beliefs and perceptions to a person who considers him/herself nervous and shy in public. The difference is in the evaluation of stimuli which in turn produces different sets of responses to these stimuli.
At Total Wellbeing, we use NLP to tackle a vast array of problematic behaviour patterns, enabling you to speak confidently in public, to perform at your best and 'hold your nerve' when under pressure, to overcome unwanted habits, to improve difficult relationships in the workplace, to socialise more enjoyably and so forth. Furthermore, NLP techniques are techniques which you can learn and take away for yourself and use without anyone even knowing you are using them!
